Monterrey's Museum of Mexican History is aiming to expand it´s capacity and renovate it´s image towards the upcoming "World Forum of the Cultures Monterrey, 2007".

With this purpose in mind, it is decided to buy an adjacent piece of land in order to create a new building which will host part of the National Museum of Antropology's collection of pieces from the Ancient Northeastern Mexican Cultures.

The restricted competition for the project of this new "Northeastern Cultures Regional Hall" gives the building an oportunitty to work as a great urban articulating element, opening a new great access for the institution towards the east, and more specifically towards the Santa Lucia channel, with which it is pretended to make an important urban connection all the way towards the Fundidora Park, giving all the urban space encountered in it's way a great opportunity for regeneration.

Our proposal considers a two storey building, as well as a a basement for parking. The building would have a double skin, the exterior made of copper and aluminum louvers, while the interior would be made of glass and poured in place concrete.

Old a new buildings would be connected by a glass bridge, allowing for a single museographic sequence.
