Residential
project located in the higher zone of the Sierra Madre mountain,
within a 42,000 sq/ft. plot, in a wood forest based mainly on oak
trees.
Due to the important slope of the site, we tried to generate a set
of volumes that would fit in it's topography. For that reason, we
ended with a five level house, from a billiard room on the basement
under the social area, to a closed observatory which functions both
as a thin counterpoint to the massive volumes of the house while
allowing us to enjoy the amazing views towards the city.
The project's free scheme is dictated mainly by the conservation
efforts towards the largest trees in the site, some of which were
even incorporated into the house.
That is the case of the largest tree of them all, for which we created
a patio that allows us to enjoy it's presence form the formal dining
room.
